This photo, taken in May of 2004, shows ‘Glacier Girl’, a Lockheed P-38F Lightning which was recovered from Greenland over the course of two years, from 1990 to 1992.
This particular recovery and restoration job was and still is singular in nature; the aircraft had been buried under almost 270 feet of ice.
