There’s no need to panic - Britney Spears is not eating for two again. There were rumors this week, sparked by a story in In Touch Weekly, that the already custody-challenged Britney Spears might be adding another mouth to the custody battle that is her life. BritBrit herself shot down the story, claiming that a published report that she was expecting baby number three, supposedly with music producer and sometimes-beau J.R. Rotem was completely untrue. A confidant of Britney Spears, Sam Lufti, refuted the story that first appeared in In Touch Weekly by text messaging E! News anchor Ryan Seacrest on his KISS-FM radio show this morning. It’s a crazy world.
The In Touch Weekly cover story claims that Britney Spears is four weeks pregnant with J.R. Rotem’s baby. Lufti texted Seacrest, simply, “It’s B.S.” at 7:30am this morning while he was allegedly with BritBrit, driving back from an all-night “Piece of Me” video shoot for the next single from the singer’s newest CD, Blackout. He also wrote, “Don’t know who made it up. J.R. doesn’t even know what’s up. It’s fake. Completely fake. We just wrapped her video. Going home to sleep.”
Seacrest tried to get Lufti and Britney Spears on the phone but they couldn’t. Lufti sent one more message, as quoted by E!, “Sorry can’t answer, we’re dodging paps. They’re trying to kill us, otherwise I’d talk.” We’re assuming paps means paparazzi. We hope.
In Touch claims that Britney Spears emailed her friends on November 14th and claimed that she had an ultrasound that proved that she was pregnant. They also claim that Rotem confirmed the pregnancy to them. It looks like that might have all been untrue. If it is true, the new child would be Britney’s third. The other two have been the focus of a heated custody battle between Britney and her ex, Kevin Federline, for most of the last year. Only a year ago, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline filed for divorce. It’s been a crazy time since then and it seems only appropriate that it would end with a pregnancy scare.
